The Planning, Logistics, and Order Management Director provides strategic leadership and oversight for all supply chain planning, logistics, and order fulfillment functions across the manufacturing organization. This role is responsible for driving an integrated SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) process, ensuring accurate forecasting, efficient production planning, effective logistics execution, and world‑class customer order management.

The Director aligns cross‑functional teams to optimize material flow, inventory performance, and customer service levels while achieving financial and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & SIOP

Lead the organization’s SIOP process to align demand forecasts, production capacity, and inventory strategy with business objectives.

Partner with Sales, Operations, and Finance to translate market demand into actionable production and supply plans.

Drive monthly executive SIOP reviews with clear performance metrics, risk identification, and mitigation strategies.

Continuously improve forecast accuracy, service performance, and working capital efficiency.

Oversee the end‑to‑end order management process—from order entry through fulfillment, shipment, and invoicing.

Ensure accurate and timely processing of customer orders in coordination with Sales, Production, and Logistics teams.

Monitor order status, delivery performance, and backlog management to ensure customer satisfaction and on‑time delivery.

Develop standardized order management procedures and performance reporting (e.g., OTIF—On‑Time, In‑Full).

Partner with Customer Service to resolve issues, expedite orders, and proactively communicate order status to clients.

Production & Material Planning

Direct master scheduling, material requirements planning (MRP), and capacity planning to balance customer demand with plant capabilities.

Coordinate with Procurement and Manufacturing to ensure material availability and efficient production sequencing.

Maintain KPIs for plan adherence, schedule accuracy, and inventory turnover.

Logistics & Distribution

Manage inbound and outbound logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, and carrier management.

Negotiate freight contracts and oversee 3PL performance to achieve cost, service, and safety targets.

Optimize logistics networks to improve delivery reliability and reduce cost per unit shipped.

Ensure compliance with transportation, trade, and environmental regulations.

Leverage ERP/MRP and analytics tools to improve forecasting, visibility, and decision‑making across planning and logistics.

Champion digital transformation and automation within order management and supply chain processes.

Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and standardize best practices.

Leadership & Team Development

Build, mentor, and develop high‑performing teams in planning, logistics, and order management.

Promote collaboration and communication across functional departments.

Establish clear goals, accountability metrics, and development plans for team members.

Foster a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and customer focus.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.

10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, manufacturing, or logistics, including 5+ years in a leadership role.

Strong expertise in SIOP, production planning, logistics, and order management processes.

Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.).

Demonstrated success in driving operational improvements, cost reductions, and service level gains.

APICS/CPIM, CSCP, or PMP.
