Position Summary:
The Urban Impact, Inc. (UII) Program Director is a leadership role dedicated to advancing, strengthening, and scaling UII’s programs and initiatives, while strategically supporting their long‑term financial sustainability to empower people, strengthen communities, and drive inclusive economic growth. This position ensures programmatic excellence, fosters cross‑departmental collaboration, and develops and aligns resources to maximize organizational and community impact. Key focus areas include the BECOME (BE) Business Accelerator, BIG Cap, financial services, BE Alumni‑BCIF Business Hub, small business technical assistance, 4th Avenue Main Street, and the new Culinary Training Kitchen Incubator initiatives; each designed to create lasting opportunities for entrepreneurs, neighborhoods, and workforce development by building skills, knowledge, and pathways for meaningful business and career advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Management and Evaluation Lead program oversight, program strategy, development, and continuous improvement to expand reach and impact. Standardize data intake, reporting, and evaluation practices across programs to ensure measurable outcomes. Generate timely program reports and insights to guide decision‑making, resource development, and accountability. Collaborate with the storytelling/PR team and department leads to highlight program synergies and amplify UII’s community impact.
Grant Collaboration and Resource Development Identify funding opportunities aligned with program priorities and suggest new partnerships. Provide subject‑matter expertise and lead collaborative processes for grant proposals, developing techniques and approaches that ensure team input and buy‑in across program design, narrative development, outcomes reporting, and budget modeling. Participate in funder/supporter site visits, meetings, and presentations to communicate program impact and maintain relationships.
Revenue and Sustainability Strategy Co‑create fee‑for‑service training, earned income initiatives, and other revenue‑generating programs aligned with program strategy. Manage program budgets, monitor expenses, and forecast resource needs to support financial sustainability. Support fundraising events, sponsorships, and organizational campaigns as needed.
Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, community planning, social entrepreneurship, or a related field (Master’s preferred). 5+ years of program management experience in nonprofit or community development organizations. Strong expertise in grant writing, fundraising, and partnership development. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, analyze data, and measure program outcomes. Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills. Proficient with technology, including Monday.com, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Canva.
