As an Assistant Principal, you will supervise, discipline, and monitor students in partnership with the Principal. You will implement and enforce school policies, administer disciplinary procedures, manage classroom organization, support teachers, and engage families and staff. What You’ll Do
Core Responsibilities
Assist in the development and implementation of assessments and instructional programs for students. Guide classroom set‑up, master scheduling, and procurement of curriculum materials. Develop and administer student conduct and disciplinary guidelines with the Principal. Oversee student arrivals, dismissals, and transitions. Assist in planning and supervising extracurricular activities. Instructional Support
Observe, evaluate, and coach assigned teachers and staff members. Lead professional development sessions as required. Create a positive learning environment, incorporating positive reinforcement and Multi‑Tiered Support Systems. School Operations
Recruit, hire, and orient assigned teaching and other staff. Proactively resolve conflicts and anticipate issues for families or students. Requirements
2+ years in an Assistant Principal role or 3‑5 years as a Master Teacher focusing on instruction. Knowledge of Illinois education laws, regulations, and policies. Understanding of elementary curriculum and instructional programs. Effective communication with teachers, parents, community members, and Board Members. Strong prioritization and organizational skills. Data analysis skills for instruction improvement. Alignment with LEARN’s core values. Persistent, intentional mindset for each child’s success. Preferred
Bilingual. Interest in becoming a principal within 1‑2 years. Master’s degree. Process evaluation and improvement skills. Benefits Summary
