Senior Tax Accountant (base up to $120k + bonus, benefits)
A growing CPA firm just outside of Boston, MA is hiring a Senior Tax Accountant to lead client engagements, review complex returns, and mentor junior staff in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
You’ll work closely with a supportive leadership team and have access to specialty departments, giving you exposure to a wide variety of tax issues and a clear path to future advancement (Manager and beyond). Clients include large public companies and privately held businesses across diverse industries.
Compensation: Base salary up to $120,000, depending on experience Bonus and benefits eligible role

Responsibilities: Lead and supervise tax engagements in compliance with firm and professional standards Plan and schedule engagements, coordinating directly with clients and internal teams Review complex federal and state tax returns (business and individual) and related workpapers for accuracy and completeness Train, supervise, and mentor junior staff and associates, providing clear feedback and coaching Perform technical tax research and clearly communicate findings internally and to clients Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional value-added services Stay current on tax law and regulatory changes relevant to your client base and areas of specialization
Must-Have Skills and Experience: 5+ years of public accounting experience with a primary focus on tax Proven experience managing tax engagements and serving as a reviewer Hands-on experience reviewing complex business and individual tax returns Strong interpersonal and client communication skills Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines during busy seasons
Nice to Have Skills and Experience: Supervisory experience across multiple concurrent client engagements Prior experience with clients in diverse industries (e.g., closely held businesses, corporations, multi-entity groups) CPA license or active CPA track Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, ProSystem fx Tax, and/or CCH Axcess Tax Strong tax research and analytical skills related to planning and compliance
