Tax Supervisor / Senior Tax Associate

What You’ll Do:
Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for:
S corporations, partnerships, and C corporations
High‑net‑worth individuals and families
Trusts and other pass‑through entities
Review tax work prepared by staff accountants, providing clear feedback and guidance
Mentor and develop junior team members, including on‑the‑job coaching and informal training
Serve as a day‑to‑day contact for clients: gather information, explain tax positions, and manage expectations around deadlines and deliverables
Draft and review written responses to IRS and state tax notices and support clients through examinations
Assist with maintaining client accounting records (including work in QuickBooks) for select engagements
Participate in tax planning projects, research, and occasional special projects (e.g., entity restructuring, international or cross‑border issues)
Contribute to process improvements and best practices within the tax team
What We’re Looking For: Education & Credentials:
Master of Science in Accounting (or equivalent) strongly preferred
Active CPA license in Massachusetts required
Additional credentials (e.g., financial modeling/valuation certifications) are a plus
Experience:
4–7+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience
Significant hands‑on experience with:
S corporation, partnership, C corporation, and individual returns
Reviewing returns prepared by junior staff
Responding to federal and state tax notices
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with CCH Axcess and CCH Engagement preferred
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel
Familiarity with CRM or practice management systems (e.g., SAP CRM or similar) is helpful
