Job Description:
We are seeking a
Mobile Pantry Lead
to support daily operations for mobile pantry services and the Preston Court Pantry. This role requires a combination of physical work, customer service, technical tasks, and, most importantly, the confident and safe operation of a large mobile food truck. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, community-oriented environments and is committed to serving clients with professionalism, warmth, and reliability. This is a fully in-person role involving both on-site warehouse work and off-site mobile pantry operations.
Key Responsibilities Physical Tasks
Safely and confidently operate a large food truck
Set up and break down mobile pantry distribution sites
Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts
Stock shelves and maintain organized backstock
Carry, sort, and bag produce
Prepare and break down food orders for distribution
Assemble and disassemble pallets of food items
Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized
Customer Service
Provide warm, professional, and respectful service to all guests
Answer phone calls, respond to texts, and manage voicemails
Assist guests both in person and through mobile communication systems
Ensure adherence to pantry guidelines and procedures
Build positive relationships with pantry managers, staff, and volunteers
Technical Tasks
Maintain communication with Mobile Pantry partners
Use office equipment, including laptops, iPads, printers, and smartphones
Utilize Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and inventory management software
Adjust guest and partner orders within digital systems
Review reports to assess inventory, scheduling, and operational needs
Support planning efforts for mobile pantry growth and community outreach
Qualifications
High school diploma required
Minimum two years of relevant experience preferred
Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred
Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office and digital inventory systems
Knowledge of kosher and/or halal food guidelines, or willingness to learn
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks
Can do a hands‑on approach and is comfortable working outdoors and indoors
Physical Requirements
Constant walking, bending, stooping, grasping, typing, and coordination
Frequent standing, carrying items from 10–50 pounds, and using warehouse equipment
Occasional reaching, pushing, and pulling
Special Requirements
Work occurs in a warehouse environment and outdoors at mobile sites in varying weather conditions
Strict adherence to safety protocols is required
Steel‑toe boots must be worn while in the warehouse
Clothing must be professional and free from offensive or political messaging
