Senior Architect NYC
Watts Architects & Engineers is seeking a Senior Architect for our NYC office. This immediate opening requires an experienced architect who will serve as an Architect for the Architecture Unit, Design Division, and Engineering Department and participate in all phases of various Authority projects, including planning, conceptual design, final design, and construction support.
Responsibilities and Duties
Lead architectural tasks as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Supervise and carry out tasks related to architectural deliverables, coordinating with supervisors, other team members, and engineering disciplines.
Represent the Architecture Unit, Design Division, and Engineering Department on projects, working closely with supervisors, contractors, consultant firms, and other divisions.
Perform planning studies, feasibility studies, facility condition assessments, building code evaluations, alterations/additions, and State of Good Repair (SGR) projects.
Prepare contract documents and other Stage III deliverables.
Supervise outside consulting A/E firms and audit their work.
Provide technical coordination and support for mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines.
Conduct trips to PA facilities for meetings and field verifications as required.
Review submittals, RFIs, and other Stage IV activities, including preparation of PACCs and attendance at project meetings.
Perform sustainable design evaluations.
Conduct technical audits.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture accredited by NAAB.
At least 8 years of design experience on a minimum of 2 projects of similar size and complexity.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
Experience in SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and other graphic and rendering software is highly desirable.
Compensation
$70,000 to $100,000 per year.
