JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
We have an immediate opening for a
Senior Architect
in our NYC office. As Senior Architect, you will serve as an Architect for the Architecture Unit, Design Division, Engineering Department and participate in all phases of various Authority projects, including planning, conceptual design, final design, and construction support.
Responsibilities And Duties
Perform as Architectural Task Leader and/or Designer as a member of a multidisciplinary team and supervise and/or carry out tasks related to architectural deliverables, and shall coordinate with supervisors and other team members, coordinate with other engineering disciplines, and interface with consultants as necessary.
Represent the Architecture Unit, Design Division, Engineering Department on Architectural projects, working closely with supervisors, other disciplines, contractors, and consultant firms, as well as other divisions within Engineering and other Departments within the Authority, i.e., Technology Services Department, Construction Management Division, Engineering Operations Division, Project Management, Line Department, and Facilities.
Task to be performed shall include, but not limited to:
Feasibility studies
Facility condition assessments
Building code evaluations
Alterations/additions
State of Good Repair (SGR) projects
Preparation of contract documents and other Stage III deliverables
Supervision of the outside consulting A/E firm and auditing their work
Technical coordination and support for other disciplines (i.e., Mechanical, Electrical, Structural)
Trips to PA facilities for meetings/field verifications as required
Review submittals, RFIs and other Stage IV activities including preparation of PACCs, and attendance at project meetings
Technical audits
Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters Degree for an architectural program accredited by the NAAB
8 years of design experience on minimum 2 projects of similar size and complexity
Proficiency in AutoCad and/or Revit and Microsoft Office
Experience in Sketch-Up, Rhino, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and other graphic and rendering software is highly desirable
