Job Title:
Sr. Human Factors Design Engineer
Base Pay Range $75.00/hr - $95.00/hr
Role Overview IntePros is helping a leading medical technology company find a Sr. Human Factors Design Engineer to support their surgical product line. This is a hands‑on role that applies human‑centered design principles to ensure products are safe, intuitive, and compliant with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Apply human performance and usability principles to product and system design
Plan and execute HF research, including formative and validation usability studies
Develop research protocols, statistical analysis plans, and study reports
Conduct simulated-use evaluations for concept selection, requirements, and risk analysis
Identify user‑related risks and support usability engineering file development
Collaborate with design engineers to optimize human‑machine interfaces
Analyze complex HF problems and recommend improvements to designs or processes
Communicate findings to stakeholders, including senior‑level audiences
Mentor junior team members and potentially lead smaller HF workstreams or projects
Qualifications Top Required Technical Skills
Human Factors experience in a regulated industry
Study execution and moderation (usability testing)
Usability risk analysis
Education & Experience
Minimum 3 years Human Factors experience (4+ years preferred)
Ideal Candidate
Strong understanding of HF practices in medical devices or other regulated sectors
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
Skilled at presenting HF insights to cross‑functional and leadership teams
Experienced in usability testing, risk analysis, and user research methods
This role is initially a 1+ year assignment, with potential for extension or conversion.
