Salesforce Technical Architect – Guidehouse

Guidehouse is seeking a Salesforce Technical Architect to join our State and Local Government (SLG) Practice within the Platforms Capability Group . This role is critical to architecting scalable, secure, and high‑performing Salesforce solutions for SLG clients. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, a consulting mindset, and a passion for innovation in the public sector.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design of Salesforce solutions, ensuring alignment with client business needs and platform best practices.
  • Architect and implement Salesforce Public Sector Solutions, including complex data models, integrations, and automation.
  • Manage end‑to‑end technical delivery across all phases: discovery, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Provide pre‑sales technical support, including solutioning, effort estimation, and staffing recommendations.
  • Conduct technical discovery sessions to understand client requirements and translate them into scalable architecture.
  • Design and oversee integration strategies with third‑party systems using APIs, middleware, and ETL tools.
  • Guide data migration efforts from legacy systems to Salesforce.
  • Ensure technical feasibility, performance, and security of proposed solutions.
  • Mentor developers and junior architects, providing hands‑on technical coaching and code reviews.
  • Stay current with Salesforce product releases, emerging technologies, and platform capabilities.
  • Contribute to practice development, including reusable assets, accelerators, and delivery frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive strategic initiatives and client success.

Qualifications

  • Active Salesforce Architect certifications (e.g., Application Architect, System Architect).
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST" clearance.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of external consulting experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Salesforce implementation experience in an agile development environment.
  • Proven experience in technical architecture, solution design, business process modeling, integration design, data migration, and transformation.
  • Strong experience in project management in technology and consulting settings.
  • Excellent client‑facing communication, stakeholder engagement, and technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to lead technical teams, manage escalations, and deliver high‑impact solutions.

Nice to Have

  • Understanding of public‑sector entities and their common business requirements.
  • Experience with Salesforce DX, GitHub/Bitbucket, PMD, SonarQube.
  • Agile delivery practices.
  • Experience with Salesforce Government Cloud and compliance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Salary Range

$171,000.00 – $285,000.00 (annual). Compensation decisions depend on skill sets, experience, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
