We are searching for a Top Secret cleared Cloud Developer (Senior) to join our team in Washington, DC.
You will be working in an organization that’s mission is to accelerate operations through data and new analytical insights. In this role you will support ongoing maintenance of multiple Virtual Private Clouds across enclaves, including managing backups, patching, upgrades, developer workstations, monitoring, and overall security posture. The entire section leverages agile and works to provide the entire enterprise with tools and applications to assist with operational data discovery, data exploitation, data analytics, and data visualization tools. The section works closely with the entire enterprise to ensure its applications and tools meet or exceed the needs of the mission.
The Cloud Developer (Senior) is a part of a team that will lead large scale data analysis projects to design and deliver on premises and cloud-based applications. The Cloud Developer (Senior) is responsible for planning and leading the design and development of cloud architectures across multiple enclaves and implementing automation for cloud resources using DevSecOps best practices. The Cloud Developer (Senior) is also responsible for architecting the migration of applications to the cloud and adopting cloud capabilities by applying expert cloud knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the cloud service delivery models and architectural framework to enable PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, and DaaS.
- Implement automation for cloud resources using DevSecOps best practices.
- Analyze applications and make recommendations across multiple areas that identify what platforms can move, migrate, and/or be deployed into a cloud environment.
- Provide strategies for failure/recovery, cost optimization and benefit analyses of cloud, cloud agnostic, and on‑site premise services.
- Develop and implement cloud applications, migrate existing on‑premises applications to the cloud, debug cloud stacks, manage policies for the use of cloud services, and respond to technology requests.
- Establish a secure cloud environment and ensure appropriate availability/uptime design.
- Work independently designing and developing new software products or major enhancements to existing cloud software.
- Possess and apply comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high‑impact assignments.
- Plan and lead major technology assignments.
- Evaluate performance results and recommend major changes affecting short‑term project growth and success.
- Function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
- May supervise others.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience is recommended. In absence of years of experience, certifications or past work may be used to show the level of experience needed to perform at this level.
Requirements:
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree (in absence of a degree, additional years of experience may be substituted for educational requirements).
Preferred:
- Scripting (Python, PowerShell, JSON, YAML).
- AWS platform experience: GovCloud, C2S, & SC2S.
- AWS experience: EC2, EFS, EBS, SQS, DLQ, Lambda, SNS.
- Agile methodologies.
- GitLab.
- Networking.
- Splunk monitoring, triggers, dashboards.
- Experience with JIRA for development of requests, setting up triggers and SLAs, tracking of customer requests, reporting issues, requests for information, sprint planning and reviews, and backlog tracking.
- Experience with Confluence for reporting, planning, documenting user processes, storing internal system configurations, publishing roadmaps for executive management and outside stakeholders.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual starting salary for this position is between $165,000‑195,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
