Mechanical Estimator
at Saylor is critical for providing precise cost estimations for mechanical projects involving systems like HVAC and plumbing. This role collaborates closely with engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure projects remain within budget and complete on time.
Pay Range $75/hr - $100/hr
Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation : Analyze project plans and specifications to develop detailed cost estimates.
Collaboration : Work closely with engineers and project managers to outline project scope.
Technical Review : Review and interpret technical drawings and schematics to ensure accuracy.
Estimation Software : Utilize specialized estimation software for preparing cost assessments.
Material Evaluation : Assess and choose materials and equipment suitable for projects.
Bid Proposals : Prepare and submit proposals for mechanical work.
Risk Assessment : Conduct risk evaluations and propose mitigation strategies.
Project Monitoring : Track project progress to ensure adherence to estimated costs.
Implementation Support : Assist during project execution to maintain cost accuracy.
Qualifications and Skills
Education : Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience : A minimum of five years in mechanical estimating within the construction sector.
Software Proficiency : Familiarity preferred with Bluebeam, OST, Quotesoft, Trimble, Richardson’s and MS Office Suite.
Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and mathematical capabilities.
Technical Understanding : In‑depth knowledge of mechanical systems and the ability to read technical drawings.
Organization : Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Problem‑Solving : Exceptional analytical skills to tackle project challenges.
Team Collaboration : Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
Communication : Capable of clear and effective communication with all project stakeholders.

Certifications : P.E., LEED, ASPE, or AACEI.
