Base Pay Range $155,000.00/yr - $215,000.00/yr
Responsibilities As a Sr. Electrical Engineer in our New York office you will be joining a team that provides a range of skills as part of an integrated building services design. Your work will cover medium‑voltage to low‑voltage power distribution system design, power studies (short circuit, coordination and arc flash), lighting design, fire and life safety systems, water/wastewater facilities, mission‑critical environments and renewable energy infrastructure.
In this role you'll manage multiple projects simultaneously, including design, perform calculations, prepare contract drawings and specifications, and prepare basis of design reports. You will delegate work to junior staff and oversee drawings, specifications and calculations to ensure they meet applicable codes and project requirements.
Design full low and medium voltage electrical systems, including power, emergency power systems, batteries, lighting, fire alarm and signaling systems
Lead preparing contract documents for plans, specifications, and cost estimates for complex projects
Design lighting systems and associated control systems
Prepare load analysis for each stage of design
Prepare detailed project electrical systems drawings
Prepare basis of design reports and technical documentation for the project
Apply knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, codes and guidelines
Select and prepare specifications for electrical equipment
Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and with project architects across multiple locations
Present to clients
Manage several assignments simultaneously
Provide quality control and quality assurance of electrical engineering plans and specifications
Mentor junior staff
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
Professional Engineer licensure
Experience working for an MEP firm focused on mission‑critical applications, medium‑voltage distribution systems and emergency generation
Proficiency in Revit and 3D CAD
Knowledge of NFPA standards
Working knowledge of other building systems (e.g., door finish hardware, IT building communications, lighting controls and BAS networks) as they relate to electrical systems
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering
