What To Expect Join the Megapack Site Controls team and help accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. Our team designs control systems integrating Megapacks with energy generation, such as solar, wind, and gensets, into applications such as power plants, data centers, and microgrids. As a Controls Engineer on our team, you’ll design, test, and deploy control systems to advance this mission. You’ll work with embedded controls and server‑based tools, collaborating across teams to ensure our systems meet real‑world needs. We’re looking for a flexible, collaborative engineer with a passion for sustainable energy and the ability to contribute to diverse technical challenges.
What You’ll Do
Collaborate with project, product and firmware/software teams to define requirements for new control behaviors
Develop and modify control algorithms (MATLAB/Simulink) and verify that they meet product requirements using simulations and HIL test setups (Typhoon)
Develop tools to help simulate, test and troubleshoot site control behavior
Document and present designs clearly to gain organization buy‑in
Support field teams in the deployment and troubleshooting of our control systems
Define our technology roadmap and contribute to the larger goal of making our control systems plug and play
What You’ll Bring
Strong grasp of electrical engineering and control system fundamentals
Proficiency in modelling control systems in Simulink, RSCAD, PSCAD, or similar
Proficiency with at least one programming language (e.g. Rust, Python, or PLC Structured Text)
Experience validating controls with SIL/HIL simulation environments
Ability to communicate findings in a concise & clear manner and work cross‑functionally with engineering, business development, and deployment personnel
