Sr. Construction Inspector – Roadway/Pavement Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Construction Inspector – Roadway/Pavement. The position is located in Anchorage, AK.

Base Pay Range:

$80,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr

Requirements:

Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen.

Must have knowledge of airfield runway construction improvements and pavement resurfacing; detailed inspections must be made to ensure the required level of workmanship adhering to the contract, project plans and specifications.

Perform and support three-phase inspection system.

Provide daily QA reports to document all activities observed for each on‑site day in sufficient detail.

Review and analysis of construction contractor progress.

Ensure safety requirements are met including EM 385‑1‑1 and OSHA requirements.

Monitor submittals utilizing a submittal status log.

Review of design, comment logging and back‑checking; verify accurate as‑built drawings.

Review and comment on the accuracy of the construction contractor’s requests for payment.

Review and acknowledge daily reports including verification of the project schedule by indicating the activities worked on that day and the activities behind schedule.

Maintain an Inspector’s Site Inspection Report.

Assist in response for Requests for Information (RFI), modifications and change orders.

Participate in pre‑final and final inspections, assist in preparations of detailed punch‑lists and check that all punch‑list items are corrected prior to final payment.

Experience / Education:

High School diploma (or GED) with at least 7 years of construction inspection experience, performing quality assurance verification on construction contract, airfield runway improvements, roadways or pavement resurfacing. Highly preferred.

Associate Degree (two‑year) or Technical Training Degree (two years) with at least 5 years of construction inspection experience, performing similar duties. Highly preferred.

Bachelor of Science Degree with at least 3 years of construction inspection experience, performing similar duties. Highly desired.

Paving Inspector Certification provided by the Asphalt Institute required within 30 days of start date.

Experience in Resident Management System (RMS 3.0), preferred.

Experience enforcing EM 385‑1‑1, OSHA rules and regulations and all applicable safety requirements.

Demonstrated experience with performing the following duties: quality assurance inspections; submittal review, quality verification, validating contractor pay request and preparing daily reports.

Experience with Federal Construction projects, particularly US Army Corps of Engineers, preferred.

Interaction with clients and contractors requires a professional presentation along with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
