Position Summary The CCC Technician will triage all telephone calls, monitor Building Automation and Security Systems, dispatch appropriate personnel, and troubleshoot BAS and Public Safety Systems. The role requires multi‑tasking, excellent customer service, and proficiency with various public safety software and communication systems.

Essential Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, maintain and control computerized Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Public Safety systems while responding to emergencies and service requests.

Triage all incoming telephone calls into the C&CC to obtain necessary information and assess appropriate resources.

Prioritize and manage multiple calls and situations simultaneously.

Keep callers on the line when necessary to provide safety instructions and gather scene insight.

Activate emergency procedures for matters requiring immediate or urgent public safety intervention.

Use two‑way radio equipment to communicate with public safety, facilities, and mechanical vendors in the field.

Apply established policy, procedures, and training to deliver safe, effective, and efficient service to the BMC community.

Familiarize with all BMC buildings, addresses, facilities, and surrounding streets to maximize dispatch accuracy and speed.

Maintain accurate records of all activity in the C&CC and track progress of facility work orders.

Operate CJIS and LEAPS computer systems, maintaining confidentiality for CJIS, HIPAA, and private information.

Disseminate law enforcement information for wanted persons, stolen vehicles, missing persons, and other matters.

Manage the Mass Notification system (Send Word Now) for safety or system notifications.

Collaborate with internal and external technicians and vendors to ensure BAS and security systems are operating properly, serviced, and maintained.

Initiate trending and alarming of systems, create logs, and issue reports through the BAS.

Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Skills and Ability

Proficient at multi‑tasking and prioritizing multiple calls for service requests and emergencies.

Understand and operate all public safety and BAS systems, including CAD, telephone and radio equipment, recording and playback software, access control and alarm monitoring software, CCTV equipment, and law‑enforcement based systems and software such as CJIS and LEAPS.

Complete related training/certification requirements and maintain ongoing proficiencies.

Maintain composure during stressful and demanding situations, projecting confidence and control.

Work various shifts (day, evening, overnight), weekends and holidays; willing to work overtime when necessary.

Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills in person, on telephone and over radio.

Education and Experience High School diploma or an equivalency certificate issued by the Massachusetts Department of Education. Preferred: Associate’s Degree or higher. Knowledge of Building Automation systems and emergency telecommunication training and experience is preferred.

Compensation $31.11–$39.11 per hour.
