Job Summary The
Vice President of Information Technology (IT)
leads the organization’s technology strategy, infrastructure, data governance, and digital innovation roadmap. This role is responsible for designing and implementing secure, compliant, and scalable IT solutions that support business growth. The VP of IT will champion modernization initiatives, including automation, AI adoption, and enhancements to enterprise systems, while ensuring operational stability, resilience, and continuous improvement across the technology ecosystem.
Essential Job Functions:
Develop an IT transformation strategy that advances operational efficiency, digital maturity, and competitive advantage.
Create and maintain a multi-year technology roadmap that aligns with business priorities, resource needs, and long-term scalability.
Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, including AI, automation platforms, and data tools, to improve processes, elevate customer experience, and strengthen decision-making.
Provide strategic guidance to executive leadership, ensuring technology investments deliver measurable business outcomes.
Lead the identification, evaluation, and deployment of AI-driven platforms and automation tools that optimize workflows and enhance organizational capabilities.
Establish and maintain ethical AI usage policies, model governance standards, and compliance frameworks for responsible AI deployment.
Partner with cross-functional leaders to assess high-impact automation opportunities, build business cases, and prioritize AI-enabled enhancements.
Oversee the development of a unified data strategy, including data quality, integrity, architecture, and analytics initiatives supporting predictive and prescriptive solutions.
Champion a culture of digital innovation through training, change management, and adoption best practices.
Ensure all IT operations comply with federal, state, and industry regulations (e.g., SOC 2, P3P, GDPR as applicable), and maintain audit-ready documentation.
Lead internal and external IT audits, risk assessments, and security gap analyses, and oversee timely implementation of remediation plans.
Direct cybersecurity programs, including threat detection, vulnerability management, endpoint protection, identity access controls, and incident response.
Develop, maintain, and enforce IT governance policies, disaster recovery procedures, and standards to ensure data integrity and operational resilience.
Mitigate technology-related risks by instituting strong internal controls, monitoring systems, and training programs to protect organizational data.
Establish and manage the IT project management framework, including governance standards, prioritization criteria, and execution methodologies.
Oversee the entire IT project portfolio, ensuring initiatives are aligned with business objectives, properly resourced, and delivered on schedule.
Manage cross-functional teams, including internal staff, contractors, and vendors, to deliver high-impact technology projects.
Monitor and report on project performance, including scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and stakeholder satisfaction.
Implement appropriate delivery methodologies (agile, waterfall, or hybrid) based on project complexity, technical requirements, and organizational needs.
Ensure strong change management, communication, and documentation throughout project lifecycles.
Oversee day-to-day IT operations, ensuring reliability and support for enterprise systems across reservations, call center operations, finance, marketing, and other business units.
Manage cloud environments, including SharePoint, Azure/O365, and other SaaS platforms, ensuring optimization, security, and seamless integration.
Ensure the performance, availability, and scalability of networks, hardware, and software, proactively resolving issues to minimize downtime.
Direct the development and maintenance of backups, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity strategies to safeguard operations.
Continuously evaluate system performance and recommend enhancements that improve user experience and organizational efficiency.
Standardize IT processes, documentation, and service delivery models, including help desk operations and end-user support.
Lead, mentor, and develop IT staff, ensuring strong technical competency, accountability, and professional growth.
Define department structure, set clear expectations, and foster a culture of innovation, customer service, and continuous improvement.
Manage vendor and partner relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee service-level agreements to ensure high-quality support and cost-effective solutions.
Develop and manage the IT budget, including forecasting, cost control, and strategic investment planning.
Drive cost-optimization strategies through vendor consolidation, technology rationalization, and process efficiencies.

What you bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
8–10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience with responsibility for infrastructure, systems, and digital transformation initiatives.
Demonstrated success leading system conversions, data modernization, automation, or AI-driven transformation projects.
Strong technical background in networking, SQL Server management, cloud administration, and cybersecurity best practices.
Proven track record managing large-scale, cross-functional technology projects from strategy through execution.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Experience in the travel, hospitality, or service industry preferred (not required).
