Environmental Health and Safety Manager Dawn Foods Global – Global leader in bakery manufacturing and ingredients distribution. The EHS Manager will develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement in safety and environmental programs across manufacturing, warehouse, engineering, office, and quality functions.

Shift Schedule:

Monday–Friday day shift supporting a 24‑hour manufacturing facility. Occasional off‑shift and weekend on‑call availability required.

Responsibilities

Accountable for creating an internal environment where people feel valued and maintaining a clean, safe & healthy workplace.

Champion a 24/7 Safety Culture and engage all employees.

Develop, implement and manage safety and environmental programs, policies and training to ensure compliance with company policies and government mandates.

Maintain OSHA logs, training records and written safety programs.

Manage environmental programs (Air Permit, SWPPP, SPCC, In‑Direct discharge Permit, Tier II, Universal Waste, SARA Title III) and submit timely reports to EPA and other agencies.

Assist with NFPA and insurance property recommendations (combustible dust, flammable liquids storage, loss prevention inspections).

Conduct documented investigations with root cause analysis and corrective actions for incidents or near misses.

Facilitate safety training programs for onboarding, new content, and refresher courses.

Mentor EHS Committee members through inspections, observations and assessments.

Initiate improvements to achieve EHS targets, reduce hazards, drive injury & illness rate reductions and monitor leading/lagging indicators.

Serve as site responsible for workers’ compensation claims in partnership with the corporate team.

Align EHS budgets and lead or support internal and external audits (OSHA, EPA, FDA, IFS).

Manage DOT compliance for hazardous material shipments.

Provide safety and environmental guidance to facility capital and CI projects and promote Dawn’s values and Circle of Excellence.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or Business preferred.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; 2 years in a leadership role managing EHS programs.

Experience in an EHS position within manufacturing or operations environment preferred.

Knowledge of federal, state and local safety & environmental regulations.

Proven record of developing, refining and training EHS procedures.

Proficient with computers, EHS programs and Microsoft Office.

Flexibility to support all departments in a 24/7 operating facility.

Professional EHS certifications desirable.

Ability to work with all stakeholders at all levels.

Physical Demands & Work Environment The role requires regular standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting up to 35 pounds. Vision, hearing and temperature tolerance are necessary. Working around heavy machinery requires hearing protection, and employees must tolerate potential allergens (peanut, egg, dairy, gluten, wheat, soy).

Compensation $90,960 – $145,540
