Position Overview The School of Continuing Education and Professional Development invites applications for a part‑time instructor to teach workforce and professional development courses in Healthcare and Wellness. The instructor will educate adult learners on topics promoting health, wellness, and preventive care.
Responsibilities
Teach non‑credit courses in healthcare, allied health, and wellness.
Prepare adult learners for entry‑level positions or further study in the health professions.
Design and conduct courses on various health and wellness topics, providing evidence‑based information and practical strategies for healthy living.
Engage students through interactive discussions and activities.
Assess student knowledge and provide feedback to support their learning goals.
Maintain accurate records of attendance and participation.
Deliver instruction in health‑related topics aligned with wellness and public health goals.
Prepare students for certification or career entry where applicable.
Maintain compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
Utilize case studies and real‑world examples in instruction.
Assess student learning using practical and theoretical assessments.
Collaborate with coordinators to ensure curriculum alignment.
Provide support to diverse learners in healthcare career tracks.
Incorporate digital tools to enhance health education.
Participate in training and updates related to healthcare policy and practice.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Nursing, Nutrition, or a related field.
Relevant professional experience in healthcare or wellness.
Valid professional licensure or certification required for regulated professions (e.g., Nursing, Pharmacy Technician, Counseling).
Knowledge of health sciences, public health, and/or allied health practices.
Understanding of adult learner needs in healthcare training.
Ability to deliver hands‑on instruction and simulate healthcare scenarios.
Knowledge of health regulations and best practices.
Strong organizational and instructional planning skills.
Ability to support students preparing for licensure or certification.
Clear written and verbal communication in a healthcare context.
Skill in assessing both practical and knowledge‑based outcomes.
Commitment to wellness, prevention, and inclusive care education.
Capacity to support learners new to digital environments.
Preferences
Master’s degree preferred.
Additional Requirements The final candidate must successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
