Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 per year.

Description

The Aegis Combat System is an American integrated naval weapons system that uses computers and radars to track and guide weapons to destroy enemy targets. The Aegis Combat System (ACS) implements advanced command and control (C&D). It is composed of the Aegis Weapon System (AWS), the fast‑reaction component of the Aegis Anti‑Aircraft Warfare (AAW) capability. AWS, the heart of Aegis, comprises the AN/SPY‑1 Radar, MK99 Fire Control System, Weapon Control System (WCS), the Command and Decision Suite, and the Standard Missile family of weapons. Aegis Baseline 9 and 10 software allows enhanced integration of sensors and weapons.

Responsibilities

Assist in development, installation, and testing of state‑of‑the‑art, computer‑based technical solutions in support of the US Navy Fleet modernization program.

Provide on‑site shipboard technical expertise for Aegis Computer, Network, and Display, and related equipment.

Assist the Team in the development of system maintenance philosophy for AEGIS Computer, Network, and Display associated equipment.

Work as an integral part of the Team in developing and reviewing design studies, drawings, test plans, and Engineering Changes Proposals (ECPs)/Ship Change Documents (SCDs), and other technical documentation for Aegis Computer, Display, and Network‑related equipment.

Provide support for projects and all related documentation covering the entire life cycle of the Aegis Computing Infrastructure (ACI) equipment.

Serve as an engineer for technical services in support of assigned projects.

Additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

BS in electrical engineering or related discipline at entry‑level or higher.

Must be able to climb tall ladders, inspect from aerial lifts, use standard tools, wear PPE, and work in adverse environments for long periods.

Must be able to periodically lift up to 50 pounds and walk to/from job sites.

Tasking may require overnight travel aboard U.S. Navy ships to conduct testing/operations while the ship is underway.

Excellent communication skills.
