The successful candidate will be responsible for providing visionary leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for SUNY Plattsburgh’s Educational Opportunity Program (EOP). Reporting to the Director of Access & Opportunity Programs (AOP), this position ensures the effective delivery of academic, personal, and financial support services designed to promote equity, access, and student success for historically underrepresented, first‑generation, and low‑income students. The Director leads program planning, assessment, and compliance, while also serving as the primary liaison to SUNY System Administration, the campus community, and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities include:
Providing strategic leadership across all aspects of EOP operations.
Developing, implementing, and evaluating policies and initiatives that align with SUNY and institutional goals.
Managing EOP student recruitment, admissions, and onboarding in partnership with AOP.
Supervising, evaluating, and supporting EOP professional and student staff.
Cultivating a collaborative, inclusive, and high‑performing work environment.
Preparing and overseeing the annual EOP budget, authorizing and monitoring expenditures.
Ensuring adherence to all SUNY, state, and institutional policies and reporting standards.
Maintaining precise records of students and programs, including statistical data and assessment reports.
Developing and assessing strategies to enhance student success and improve retention and graduation rates.
Coordinating with academic and student success offices to provide comprehensive support to students.
Representing EOP to SUNY, governmental agencies, community partners, and the public.
Engaging in divisional and institutional initiatives that foster equity, access, and persistence.
