The Student Outreach and Support Coordinator helps students remain on track toward graduation by connecting them with resources that promote stability, wellness, and belonging. Housed within
Access & Opportunity Programs (AOP) , this role supports students experiencing food insecurity, housing instability, or financial hardship that impacts academic success. The Coordinator collaborates with campus and community partners to provide direct assistance, referrals, and advocacy, ensuring students have access to food, safe housing, and essential support that fosters persistence and completion.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the Cardinal Cupboard, including food inventory, distribution, and outreach;
Manage the Student Emergency Assistance and Textbook Assistance programs, including application review and reporting;
Serve as the SUNY Homeless Liaison for students experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity;
Build partnerships with local and campus agencies to improve access to food, housing, and emergency resources;
Provide outreach and case management for students facing basic needs challenges;
Supervise student staff and maintain records for assessment and accountability;
Participate in campus efforts focused on wellness, equity, and retention.
This position is part of the
Enrollment and Student Success
division, which supports a student’s entire collegiate experience from the point of admission through to graduation.
Using a holistic model, we partner with students, faculty, staff, and community affiliates to provide a network of opportunities and services that lead to student success.
Collectively, the division positively influences the health, safety, and well‑being of the student body.
