Assistant Fund Controller- Hedge Fund
Location: New York City, On-Site
Compensation: $160,000–$190,000 Base + Bonus
We are partnered with a global, multi-strategy hedge fund HQ in New York that is continuing to scale its finance and fund accounting infrastructure. The firm offers a true institutional hedge fund environment with sophisticated strategies, complex fund structures, and best‑in‑class controls.
This is a high‑visibility role reporting directly to the Fund Controller and is ideal for a hedge fund professional looking to step into a broader, more strategic seat.

Responsibilities
Partner with the Fund Controller as a key member of the fund accounting and finance team
Oversee and review month‑end NAV estimates and close processes in coordination with external fund administrators
Maintain and review shadow accounting systems, investor allocations, and variance analysis
Review daily fund‑level P&L and performance, working with internal teams and service providers
Manage oversight of fund administrators and back‑office vendors, enhancing controls and automation
Support complex fund structures, including audit coordination and statutory filings
Review and execute regulatory filings (Form PF, CPO‑PQR, FAR, and other global requirements)
Drive process improvement, analytics, and automation initiatives as the platform scales
Requirements
7–10 years of relevant accounting or finance experience
CPA preferred
Background in hedge fund environments (multi‑strategy strongly preferred)
Big 4 and industry mix highly desirable
Experience overseeing or partnering with fund administrators
Exposure to NAV, P&L, allocations, and fund audits
Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate across finance, operations, treasury, legal, and compliance
Base pay range: $160,000.00 per year – $190,000.00 per year
