Job Summary
Oversees all frozen Bakery Plant production. This position is at the Schnucks Bakery Plant located at 8590 Page Ave, St Louis, MO 63114.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Production planning:
Creates and maintains production schedules to meet demand, manage resource allocation, and adjust schedules as needed based on SSC orders (weekly ads/promotions, store inventory) and external customer orders.
Overseeing operations:
Hands‑on manager of day‑to‑day operations of the Bakery Plant manufacturing facility to ensure all activities run smoothly and efficiently.
Staff management and Teammate Development:
Manage, train, develop and motivate production teams, conduct performance reviews, and oversee ongoing training. Develop supervisors to exemplify COMET values and build process, safety, and quality knowledge.
Budget and cost control:
Create and manage production budgets, estimate costs, and implement strategies to reduce expenses and increase productivity.
Quality and Safety:
ensures quality, food safety, and workplace safety standards, policies and compliance are adhered to.
Collaborating and Reporting:
Collaborates with other departments to ensure seamless operations. Tracks and reports production quantities, and corrective and preventive actions.
Minimum Requirements
Required Education: High school education
Other Requirements: 3-5 years of production experience, bakery production experience ideal
Minimum Years of Experience: 3 to 5 years
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge
Basic computer literacy
Basic familiarity with a production environment
Skills & Abilities
Confidence and excellent decision making skills
Comfort in enforcing company policies and safety regulations, including performing disciplinary actions.
Strong organizational skills needed to manage different areas of the Bakery Plant
Desire to learn about the industry via American Institute of Baking seminars, etc.
Formal Policy Setting Makes recommendations to management
Physical Requirements and Work Environment Walking, Standing, Lifting (25 to 50 lbs). Travel 0-25%.
