Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join its team in Roy, UT, supporting the Sentinel program. This position involves the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for ICBM Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
What You Will Get To Do The Sentinel program offers an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to support activities including use case development, requirements definition, allocation, traceability, functional decomposition, interface definition, and verification.
Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop rigorous systems engineering and design artifacts.
Work with technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature WS design of a large program.
Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure that they are properly represented in the model.
Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical).
Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis.
Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes for model development, tool integration, and team integration.

This position’s standard work schedule is 9/80 – nine-hour days Monday through Thursday, with every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8 years of experience or 6 years with a Master’s degree or 4 years with a Ph.D.; an additional 4 years of direct CM/DM experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance and an investigation date within the last 6 years.
Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances within a reasonable amount of time.
2+ years’ experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) or complex aerospace/defense systems.
2+ years’ experience in developing and executing Systems Engineering process governance documentation in a DoD Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase.
1+ year’s experience in team environments with technical leadership responsibilities.
2+ years’ experience creating, updating, and maintaining requirements specifications in DOORS.
2+ years’ experience in large-scale/complex system development across multiple phases: preliminary design, detailed design, integration and test, verification and sell off, transition to production.
2+ years’ experience creating, updating, and maintaining Model‑Based Systems Engineering products.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with SE events (e.g., PDR, CDR).
Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience resolving issues and providing technical support.
Capable of working with minimal direction and in team environments.
Experience leading SE events (e.g., PDR, CDR).
Strong understanding and broad application of complex engineering systems for the development of systems of systems.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including high‑value customer presentations.
Familiarity with Teamcenter/CPLM.
Experience with Agile.
Salary and Compensation Primary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 – $178,000.00. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long‑term incentives. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results.
