Executive Team Leader Specialty Sales (Assistant Manager Merchandising and Service) - Houston, TX
Pay range: $60,000 – $120,000.00. Pay is based on labor markets and may include factors such as education, work experience, and certifications. All About Specialty Sales A sales force of specialized consultants who provide tailored suggestions and solutions through active selling and compelling visual merchandising presentations that inspire guests and build the basket. In Apparel & Accessories, Beauty and Electronics teams prioritize guest experience while pulling, filling, pricing, setting, staging and maintaining the sales floor and backroom.
Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience building and managing a guest‑first culture.
Knowledge of retail business fundamentals: department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions.
Experience setting and planning department workload to support business priorities and managing a team to deliver on sales goals.
Ability to manage multiple specialty businesses and balance team member expertise in each area.
Knowledge of competitors and ability to leverage insights that drive business objectives.
Experience managing hourly team members and leaders and creating department–specific strategies and goals.
Skills in recruiting, selecting and talent management of hourly team members and leaders.
Responsibilities
Drive total store sales, understanding your role in sales growth and how departments and team contribute to store profitability.
Create a guest‑obsessed culture and lead your team to prioritize the guest experience and deliver on sales goals.
Create schedules and adjust as needed to align to guest traffic and business needs.
Manage merchandising and pricing workload including transitions, revisions, sales plans, sampling and promotions.
Know and assess competition and leverage guest insights and feedback to drive the business.
Work a schedule aligning to guest and business needs (including early morning, evening, overnight shifts and weekends).
Build a team of consultants knowledgeable and passionate about Apparel & Accessories, Beauty and Electronics.
Manage and develop a sales force using selling training techniques.
Lead backroom processes, organization and replenishment of the sales floor.
Lead your team to deliver inspiring visual moments in key areas.
Ensure fitting rooms are welcoming and extend the sales floor experience.
Plan, lead and follow‑up on organizational and operational change.
Anticipate staffing needs, talent planning, recruiting and long‑term development.
Coaching and developing your team and team leaders.
Lead onboarding and learning to close product knowledge gaps.
Establish accountability through clear expectations and performance management.
Provide a shopping experience that meets guest needs.
Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
Address store needs (emergency, regulatory visits, etc.) and follow safe and secure training.
Perform any other duties based on business needs.
