Secret – Current Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline, supporting the LTAMDS and GhostEye Radars. Every day will bring new challenges, requiring cross‑disciplinary work to troubleshoot issues, perform system maintenance, and implement solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the success of mission‑critical defense systems. What You Will Do
Maintain tactical and non‑tactical systems: provide system and network administration in Redhat Enterprise Linux (7, 8 & 9), Cisco, and Nvidia environments. Troubleshoot and analyze: identify and resolve operating system, network, hardware, software, and system issues through detailed debugging. Lead system build efforts: develop and implement installation plans, procedures, and documentation for system builds. Integrate systems: install and integrate server and network hardware, operating systems, and software into tactical and simulation systems, evaluating compatibility and functionality. Install and configure software: install commercial, government, and Raytheon applications requested by end users. System hardening: collaborate with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements. Present findings: present technical findings and solutions to leadership. Support missions: travel as needed (up to 20%) to support mission execution at local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations. Note:
This role can be based out of Pelham, NH. Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and at least 10 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent. Experience with Linux architecture, deployment, administration, performance monitoring/tuning, security hardening, and troubleshooting. Experience administering server hardware. Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required. Qualifications We Prefer
Network design and management experience. Experience with VMware or other virtual computing methods. Script development (Bash, Python, Ansible, Kickstart). Anti‑virus solutions experience. Systems hardening and STIG compliance. Support for engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development. Technical documentation generation (system build plans, procedures, reports). Experience in an integration lab, test facility, or field support. Interfacing with internal and external customers. Relevant certifications (Cisco, RedHat, VMware, etc.). Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. What We Offer
