Job Description Technical source of information for the project with a thorough knowledge of construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders. Responds to questions regarding drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and change orders. Maintains professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. May assist in supervising and training Field Engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Demonstrates understanding of components of the project management plan (scope, procurement, environmental, time, financial, quality and safety, risk) for successful execution and change management.
Develops a procurement schedule, integrates it with the project CPM schedule, inventories material and equipment, coordinates submittals, and reviews all for compliance.
Understands prime contract, subcontracts, purchase orders, allowances, drawings and specifications; administers budgeting and cost control to keep the project within budget.
Maintains "As-built" contract documents and compiles close‑out requirements (operation and maintenance manuals, warranties, etc.).
Participates in concrete form design, related equipment selection, and takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utilities.
Plans, acquires, develops, and supervises project team members for relentless execution.
Maintains quantity reporting, coordinates agendas, prepares minutes, and maintains project logs.
Prepares and reviews change orders and maintains the change order log; distributes documents to company and subcontractor personnel.
Prevents and resolves potential claims in a timely manner.
Minimum Job Requirements
Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, and interdependence between functional units.
Four‑year construction‑related degree or equivalent technical training with three to four years of similar construction engineering experience.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to manage a diverse team; skill to supervise/train Field Engineers if required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to wear personal protective equipment.
May reach above shoulder height and below the waist frequently; may stoop, kneel, or bend occasionally.
May use telephone, computer, and other electronic devices.
Must comply with all safety standards and procedures; may climb stairs, ladders, etc.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, lifting, handling objects; interaction with people during work shift.
May lift, push, or pull objects occasionally; sit, stand or walk short distances for the shift.
Safety Level Safety‑Sensitive.
