$43.03/hr (based on skills and experience)

Job Summary Immediate need for a Maintenance Mechanic to perform maintenance and repair of equipment at General Services Administration (GSA) Operations, Maintenance sites in Washington, DC.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Installs, services, and repairs environmental control units.

Utilizes knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout to mount compressor and condenser units, fabricate and install ductwork, and install evaporator units.

Execute watch tours in a timely manner.

Monitor, maintain, and repair BMCS systems on site.

Troubleshoot equipment on site.

Perform preventive maintenance on building equipment, machinery, and components.

Institute corrective action and report deficiencies to supervisor.

Provide reports and documentation of completed work.

Monitor subcontractors as assigned and provide reports.

Perform other tasks as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications

Must possess one or more of the following certifications: Technician Certification, CFC Certification.

Five (5) or more years of experience in maintenance and repairs on commercial‑industrial building equipment (chillers, pumps, control systems, air handlers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, VAVs, VFDs).

Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and specifications.

Practical knowledge of maintenance and building air systems.

Physical Demands

Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 75 lbs.)

Prolonged, extensive standing/walking.

Push/pull or move/lift equipment, supplies, and parts.

Manual dexterity and mobility.

Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
