Job Description
As a Field Service Representative- Specialty Operations with a PLC specialization is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex water and wastewater treatment systems using Programmable Logic Controllers. In addition you’ll be on the front lines providing operational and maintenance expertise on industrial water treatment systems for one of our customers from a variety of industries. This mission critical role involves working on a variety of technologies including media filtration, industrial water treatment and ultrafiltration (UF).
Key Characteristics
PLC and controls expertise: Read, interpret, troubleshoot, and modify PLC ladder logic, electrical schematics, and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Review customer plant installations and compare against VWTS reference drawings (P&IDs, electrical schematics, general arrangement, etc.).
Monitor equipment performance and operation.
Conduct maintenance and calibration activities on various treatment plant instrumentation.
Perform analytical testing such as: turbidity, hardness, chlorine, pH, CO2, O2, SDI, TOC, in addition to various other site-specific testing requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
Carry out mechanical, electrical, process and controls troubleshooting on equipment such as valves, air compressors, ejectors, pumps, blowers, instrumentation, and automation hardware.
Perform installation & maintenance activities on various water treatment technologies.
Provide customers with informal training around operation and maintenance of their system.
Provide customers with detailed technical summaries of work performed during service visits.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong background in electrical and controls troubleshooting, with experience in reading and interpreting P&IDs and electrical schematics.
Experience with PLC and HMI programming, troubleshooting, and modification.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely with project teams.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to meet all customer site requirements.
Qualifications Required:
High School Diploma / GED / Home School Certification OR international equivalent 2+ years’ experience of service/maintenance or equivalent in an industrial environment.
Valid Driver’s License
Preferred (if applicable):
Bachelor or Associates Degree in Science/Engineering (STEM) or technical certificate in Instrumentation
Additional Information Ability to travel within the region as needed - some over nights as needed.
Compensation $30 - $43 per hour
