Position Responsibilities
Review consolidated financial statements and associated annual and quarterly disclosures.
Review monthly lender financial statements and supporting schedules.
Oversee the annual audit and quarterly reviews.
Oversee month‑end closings.
Review journal entries and general ledger reconciliations, including:
Lease accounting, including sale‑leaseback transactions
Goodwill and intangibles
Sale‑leaseback accounting
Asset retirement obligations
Business combinations
Proactively research and document technical accounting matters to ensure that the company is compliant with current technical accounting standards and associated disclosure.
Design, develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
Lead the documentation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of internal controls across the organization, in accordance with Sarbanes‑Oxley Act.
Handling preparation for federal and state income tax returns.
Reviewing tax provision and footnote disclosures.
Oversee sales and use tax and property tax filings and payments.
Oversee the accounts payable function, including payments to both trade and non‑trade vendors to ensure timely payments.
Oversee processes to ensure accurate general ledger coding and approvals.
Provide coaching, technical direction, training, and leadership support to team members to ensure financial results are recorded accurately and the team is sufficiently qualified to meet the demands and complexities of changing business needs.
Provide insightful, value‑adding analysis as well as risk assessment, performance analysis, and due diligence related to key issues.
Qualifications
Experience in consumer retail industry strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
CPA required.
Eight years of accounting experience.
Experience working for a public company in similar or progressive roles.
Previous supervisory experience.

Understanding of financial and accounting standards and regulations.
Leadership skills and the ability to work well as part of a team, including the ability to stay calm under pressure and juggle multiple duties.
Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, and analytical skills.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills, including the ability to prioritize duties.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to travel to regional office on a periodic basis.
High level of proficiency in MS Office (Excel and Word).
