Manager, Procurement Strategy and Performance Improvement
Join KPMG US as a Manager in the Procurement Strategy practice. The role focuses on leading enterprise‑wide procurement and sourcing strategy engagements across private equity and corporate sectors, driving financial impact and cost savings.
Responsibilities
Lead enterprise‑wide procurement/sourcing strategy engagements and deliver client deliverables across private equity and corporate industry sectors.
Manage procurement engagement initiatives for the Operations Center of Excellence, overseeing highly skilled KPMG project teams, data request generation, creation of final deliverables, and presentation of outputs.
Work closely with business stakeholders, align with clients on sourcing/procurement project objectives, develop key deliverables, conduct assessments, source across categories, improve processes, reach consensus on cost‑reduction strategies, and implement changes.
Create insights related to the client’s strategic and financial ambitions, identify underlying value proposition and challenge working capital/cash flow objectives through structured data analyses and identification of risks and efficiencies.
Present final project deliverables, advise persuasively, and earn the position of a trusted advisor.
Participate in the professional development of junior KPMG strategy team members.
Qualifications
Minimum five years of recent external consulting experience in a client‑facing strategy discipline at a major strategy, boutique strategy or Big 4 consulting firm in procurement strategy; or a combination of five years in procurement consulting and work experience in a high‑impact procurement related industry role.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in Business Administration or Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
Industry knowledge/experience in one or more key industry sectors.
Hands‑on experience delivering bottom‑line financial impact via strategic sourcing and tactical procurement, and delivering cost savings across categories with deep experience in cost‑reduction techniques.
Proven ability to perform data‑driven analyses including problem statement, data discovery and statistical analysis resulting in cash‑flow improvements and cost reduction.
Willingness and ability to travel.
