Position Overview The Individual Giving and Stewardship Specialist plays a key role in expanding and sustaining the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro's individual donor base by implementing effective giving strategies, strengthening donor relationships, and ensuring exceptional donor stewardship. This role directly supports growth by managing donor data, recognition, communications, and giving programs that increase donor retention, engagement, and overall fundraising impact. By driving consistent, meaningful donor experiences, this position contributes to our ability to provide high-quality programs and life‑changing opportunities for youth.
Essential Functions
Work with the Director of Development to implement strategies to secure financial support from individual donors.
Actively engage and cultivate relationships with individual donors.
Collaborate with the Development team to integrate individual giving strategies into the overall fundraising plan.
Implement and follow the Donor Stewardship Plan, including effective donor recognition and appreciation strategies.
Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications on quarterly fundraising appeals.
Manage the Development Department’s CRM, recording all incoming donations, sponsorships and grants.
Plan and manage the Annual Club Champions Celebration, the BGCSL donor and volunteer appreciation event.

Communication & Listening : Tailors donor communications to be personal, timely, and grounded in the mission; translates giving data into clear insights; listens before responding.
Teamwork : Works seamlessly with Development, Marketing, Programs, and Finance to align messaging, data, and strategy; shares information early; supports team deliverables during peak campaigns.
Results Orientation : Meets stewardship and fundraising deadlines; uses CRM data to identify trends, segment donors, and refine strategies; tracks progress toward measurable plans.
Qualifications & Experience 3–5 years full‑time fundraising experience at a similar size nonprofit; excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; experience managing a CRM database.
Preferred qualification: BA/BS Degree in any related field.
Work Environment
Primarily in a standard office environment.
Frequently required to sit.
Continually required to use hand and finger dexterity.
Continually required to talk or hear.
Rarely exposure to outside weather conditions (visiting a site).
Quiet to moderate noise level.
Occasional lifting or moving >20 pounds.
