Senior Firmware Engineer – Abiomed Johnson & Johnson is hiring for a Senior Firmware Engineer – Abiomed to join our team located in Danvers, Massachusetts. Fueled by innovation at the intersection of biology and technology, we’re developing the next generation of smarter, less invasive, more personalized treatments. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize embedded software (primarily in C/C++)
Maintain core system components to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability
Assist in designing control systems
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software application engineers to resolve complex system-level challenges
Apply best practices in embedded software engineering, including CI/CD, automated testing, and system monitoring
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or Embedded Software Engineering.
3+ years in embedded systems, low-level firmware on STM32/ARM Cortex or ESP32.
Experience with RTOS or bare-metal ARM environments.
Strong C/C++ skills, microprocessor optimization, threading, and software design principles.
Experience with UART, I2C, SPI, Wi‑Fi, BLE, CAN, source control, and embedded build systems.
Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
2+ years of Medical Device development experience.

Pay & Benefits The anticipated base pay range for this position is: $109,000 - $196,000. This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
