A full‑time position is available for an experienced Recertification Specialist in East Boston, MA. The specialist will process all annual and interim resident recertifications (HUD 50059), submit subsidy‑related transmissions to HUD and state agencies, provide moderate clerical support, and be an expert in HUD S.8 regulations, recertifications, EIV, voucher discrepancies, voucher processing, and reconciliation.

Pay Range $58,000.00/yr - $65,000.00/yr

Job Functions

Ensure all resident recertifications are processed on time and according to procedures by sending notifications, conducting and tracking resident interviews, completing verification, and processing income certifications.

Ensure accurate subsidy‑related transmissions to HUD and state agencies by processing and submitting monthly Section 8 payments through TRACS and reconciling monthly vouchers.

Enterprise Income Verification responsibilities: assist with EIV coordination, review monthly and quarterly EIV reports and address discrepancies, and ensure subsidiary vouchers, (re)certifications, EIV, move‑ins, and move‑outs are conducted efficiently.

Greets and assists applicants, residents, and other visitors; answers telephone calls; writes work orders; shows rental units and explains the application process; assists with open houses and other special marketing events; performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of HUD guidelines pertaining to rent subsidy.

Understanding of HUD processes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Ability to work independently.

Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Ability to preserve resident and applicant confidentiality.

Strong telephone skills.

Education / Training / License

Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) designation preferred.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Recertification and affordable property experience preferred.

Experience

1‑3 years experience in affordable housing.

Bi‑lingual Spanish/English is a plus.
