About The Role As a
Business Development Representative focused on Individuals & SMB , you will drive one of Alma’s highest-velocity growth motions. This role blends traditional sales prospecting with modern growth tactics — orchestrating signal-based outreach, running highly personalized sequences, and leveraging tools like Heyreach, Instantly, and Clay to create meaningful conversations at scale. You’ll be on the front lines of helping individuals and small teams navigate life-changing immigration decisions — while shaping the playbook for how Alma grows this segment going forward.
What You’ll Do
Own outbound pipeline generation for Individuals & SMB
Build, launch, and optimize multi-touch automated campaigns using Heyreach, Instantly, and Clay
Track real-time buying signals (founder activity, hiring trends, job transitions, visa inquiries, startup funding, remote worker triggers) to prioritize outreach
Personalize emails, social messages, and call scripts at scale with AI-powered workflows
Rapidly respond to inbound leads and qualify prospects for consultations
Conduct discovery to understand individual or SMB immigration goals, timing, budget, and decision-making criteria
Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to refine messaging and experiment with new ICP micro-segments
Maintain accurate CRM tracking and ensure consistent pipeline hygieneContribute to building Alma’s SMB outbound playbook — messaging, sequences, triggers, and workflows
Iterate constantly: test new hooks, channels, and automation tactics to improve conversion rates
You’ll Thrive Here If You Have
1–3+ years of BDR/SDR experience in high-volume SMB, consumer, or PLG-adjacent environments
Hands‑on experience with modern outbound tools (Heyreach, Instantly, Clay, Apollo, HubSpot, enrichment systems, etc.)
Strong phone presence — comfortable making first contact and guiding prospects with empathy
An experimenter’s mindset: you enjoy A/B testing, measuring, optimizing
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
A high-ownership attitude with a bias toward fast execution
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with startup chaos — lots of building, iterating, and learning
Interest in immigration, global mobility, or helping individuals navigate important life decisions
Compensation United States (Remote)
Base: $55,000 – $60,000
OTE: $85,000 – $95,000
Canada (Remote)
Base: CAD $70,000 – $78,000
OTE: CAD $108,000 – $122,000
