Job Details Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership for the office, setting goals around revenue, profitability, quality of work, and client service

Manage and mentor attorneys and professional staff, including performance management, workload balancing, and professional development

Maintain and grow a personal insurance defense practice, handling a mix of cases such as general liability, auto, premises, construction defect, and related matters

Take an active role in significant matters, including motion practice, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as appropriate

Drive business development efforts, including expanding relationships with existing carrier and TPA clients and cultivating new institutional clients

Collaborate with firm leadership on budgeting, forecasting, staffing needs, and long-term office growth plans

Promote a positive, inclusive culture aligned with firm values and focused on collaboration, accountability, and high-quality work product

Oversee matter staffing, case assignment, and resource allocation to ensure efficient, cost-effective client service

Monitor key metrics (billable hours, realization, collections, utilization) and implement strategies to improve office performance

Represent the firm in the local legal and business community through networking, bar activities, and industry events

Qualifications

JD from an accredited law school and barred in FL

Substantial experience in insurance defense litigation, including lead responsibility on complex matters and trials

Prior experience in a leadership role such as partner, practice group leader, supervising attorney, or office head

Demonstrated success managing and mentoring attorneys and staff

Proven ability to generate and grow business, with strong relationships among carriers, TPAs, and institutional clients

Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, with strong judgment around risk, settlement, and trial strategy

Comfort with law firm economics, including budgeting, billing practices, and profitability analysis

Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
