Key Responsibilities

Lead comprehensive audits and quality reviews of home underwriting files to ensure adherence to internal guidelines, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Oversee and execute targeted quality reviews connected to new underwriting initiatives, both for new business and renewal workflows, offering expert guidance and insight.

Analyze complex underwriting decisions to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for process optimization. Partner with leadership, trainers, and underwriters to implement meaningful corrective actions.

Own and enhance the department’s annual agency audit program, setting standards for compliance and ensuring accurate, timely execution.

Prepare and deliver detailed reports, recommendations, and presentations to department leadership and key stakeholders, providing clear and constructive insights.

Develop, refine, and maintain quality assurance standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring they reflect current best practices and evolving business needs.

Monitor, interpret, and report on quality metrics, driving improvements through dashboards, scorecards, and data‑driven tools.

Serve as a resource for regulatory and underwriting expertise, staying current with relevant laws, regulations, and changes affecting home insurance.

Mentor and support junior analysts, fostering growth and consistency across the QA function.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.

5+ years of experience in home underwriting, quality assurance, or a closely related discipline.

Advanced understanding of underwriting guidelines, risk assessment, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance methodologies.

Demonstrated ability to lead reviews of complex underwriting files and influence decision‑making across teams.

Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, actionable feedback at all levels of the organization.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with data visualization tools a plus.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Salary Range The pay range for this position is $75,000 to $106,500 annually. Actual compensation will vary based on multiple factors including experience, knowledge, scope of role, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
