Schedule:

Day Shift, 36 hours per week – three 12‑hour shifts 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. with every 3rd weekend rotation and holiday rotation.

Sign‑On Bonus:

One‑time bonus up to $2,000 (less taxes) for a 2‑year service commitment.

Job Summary Care Partners provide bedside patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse and perform clerical duties necessary for the functioning of the nursing unit.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

General Patient Care

Carry out the patient’s plan of care under RN direction.

Deliver care requiring a broad knowledge of aseptic technique, medical terminology, and equipment.

Assist nurses and physicians with procedures and operate related equipment safely.

Retrieve patient care items not routinely on the unit; coordinate unit activities and transcription of orders.

Prepare rooms for admissions and follow up after discharges; complete patient belongings list.

Maintain prompt, courteous attention to patients, families, and visitors; inform RN of significant patient needs.

Round with purpose and manage dietary trays, including corrections for late or wrong trays.

Prepare and set up trays and maintain supplies and equipment; report hazards to housekeeping, maintenance, dietary, etc.

Serve as a resource for co‑workers, patients/families, medical staff, and ancillary personnel.

Safety and Comfort

Apply restraints with monitoring for circulation or skin integrity; provide ROM, skin care, toileting, socialization.

Operate cardiac monitors and other monitoring equipment.

Complete point‑of‑care testing and obtain vital signs (temperature, girth, weight, intakes, outputs).

Assist with mobility, pneumatic stockings, ambulation, turns, and positioning.

Perform respiratory care, incentive spirometry, oxygen therapy, pulse oximetry, suctioning, and tracheostomy care.

Provide wound care, including dressing changes and pin‑site management.

Administer enemas, catheterization, and bladder care; provide hygiene and grooming daily, mouth care, perineal care, and toileting.

Collect specimens: urine, sputum, blood, stool; maintain specimen labeling.

Clerical Duties

Answer phone and direct callers; notify nursing staff of new admissions.

Assist with pneumatic tube returns and daily worksheet preparation.

Verify census sheets, maintain and update nurse logs.

Coordinate admissions/discharges in the computer; manage specimen labels and critical lab values.

Complete secretarial portions of pre‑op checklists, admission screens, and item transfers.

Monitor orders, enter them accurately, call departments for non‑computerized orders, and sync with pharmacy.

Document charting accurately; manage charts and medical records, ensuring timely completion and submission.

Safety/Infection Control

Follow standard precautions and dispose of hazardous waste per guidelines.

Maintain a clean, safe environment; keep personal conversations to a minimum; adhere to dress code.

Report risk management concerns; complete annual mandatory trainings (TB, ethics, safety, information security, abuse & neglect, bloodborne pathogens).

Document and communicate changes in patient condition to the RN; complete hand‑off reports.

Service Excellence

Provide prompt and courteous service to patients, families, and visitors.

Respond to call lights promptly; maintain confidentiality and effective communication.

Meet the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of patients per RN direction.

Offer education in an understandable manner; allow time for questions.

Provide accurate shift reports and collaborate to improve unit performance.

Professional Development and Accountability

Participate in staff meetings, in‑services, and unit‑based committees.

Seek performance improvement opportunities and support feedback processes.

Adhere to policies, maintain licensure, certifications, and mandatory requirements.

Maintain personal accountability for performance and safety.

Job Specifications

Minimum Education:

High School graduate or GED (preferred vocational/specialized training).

Minimum Experience:

None.

Required Course:

Completion of learning program with 80% passing score on written and skill examinations.

Working Conditions:

Regular exposure to blood‑borne diseases, contact with patients, unpredictable situations, possible emergency care, irregular hours, and high pressure due to competing demands.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged standing/walking; lifting and moving patients, supplies, and equipment (often >100 lbs); reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, lifting, pushing, pulling.

Required Professional License and/or Certifications

Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA)

Other resuscitation certifications may be required depending on the department.
