Responsibilities The Director, Corporate Development – East Region is responsible for the development, management, and strategic growth of revenue from national corporate partners within the assigned region. The position manages a portfolio and a team to secure a minimum of $3 million annually in partnership revenue in support of the full Corporate Partnerships team goal. Key responsibilities include:
Researching, identifying, and cultivating revenue opportunities with new and existing partners through lead generation, proposal preparation, and sales presentations.
Building 6‑ and 7‑figure strategic partnerships that support partner goals while advancing the Susan G. Komen brand and mission.
Managing the full new business sales cycle, including cold/warm outreach, meeting planning, stakeholder engagement, proposal and presentation development.
Reporting regularly to the Vice President, Corporate Partnerships with status reports, trend analyses, and revenue projections shared with senior leadership.
Acting as an external ambassador for the organization, maintaining industry knowledge and staying current with mission priorities.
Leading the development of business opportunities cross‑functionally with the Mission, Marketing, and Community Development teams.
Managing a team with a portfolio of national corporate partner programs and inbound new business partnerships ($50,000 and below), ensuring account management best practices and providing oversight, coaching, and recruitment as needed.
Traveling approximately one week per month to attend conferences, meet prospects, and engage with community development leaders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 10–15 years of nonprofit fundraising experience with a proven track record establishing and managing a robust sales/partnership pipeline.
Track record of meeting and exceeding large revenue goals, including building 6‑ and 7‑figure partnerships.
Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to research, create, and close new business opportunities independently.
Expertise in developing comprehensive partnership proposals and managing a sales process with financial forecasting and performance reporting.
Independent self‑starter with a history of working with minimal direction and turning conceptual direction into executed strategies.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% throughout the market; availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong deal/partnership lead‑to‑close ratio.
Experience supervising a team of direct reports or volunteers.
Experience working for a national non‑profit developing, implementing, and managing partnerships.
