Senior Superintendent (Superintendent / Senior Superintendent)
Founded in 1902, our company is a leading contractor in the Bay Area, recognized for award‑winning projects across construction, education, and healthcare sectors.
We are seeking a seasoned construction professional with a passion for excellence and leadership to join our team as a Superintendent/Senior Superintendent. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects and contribute to our company's growth.
Base pay range:
$150,000.00/yr – $200,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Oversee all stages of the project life cycle and ensure projects are completed within time and budget constraints.
Supervise the construction process to ensure all safety and quality control standards are met.
Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring they fully understand expectations and responsibilities.
Review work progress on a daily basis and resolve any arising issues or delays.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists.
Ensure all legal requirements, building and safety codes, safety inspections, city guidelines, and local and state regulations are met.
Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status and progress.
Implement strategies to prevent delays and stay on schedule and budget.
Conduct regular meetings with project teams and stakeholders, reporting on progress, obstacles, and solutions.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a superintendent role within the construction industry, with a significant portion of that experience being in healthcare construction.
A bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
An in-depth understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles.
Excellent knowledge of construction safety regulations and procedures.
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Exceptional problem‑solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
Proficiency in construction management software and other relevant computer applications.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
A proven track record of completing projects to specifications and within budget and timeline.
Current with latest construction industry trends, materials, and customer preferences.
