Data Test Engineer
Contract: W2 contract
Experience: 12+ years
Competencies: ETL(Snowflake) and Reports/Visualization Testing
Responsibilities
- Proactively handle large data migration testing projects.
- Strategize testing approaches, optimize validation processes, and deliver value-added improvements to enhance data quality.
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT data flows and data transformation logic.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Snowflake and cloud‑based SQL environments.
- Analyze large datasets, complex transformation rules, and derive insights to support data quality improvements.
- Drive process automation opportunities (SQL automation, Python scripts, metadata‑driven testing, reusable validation templates).
- Optimize current QA processes by identifying inefficiencies, reducing manual steps, and implementing best practices for data validation.
- Proactively identify data quality risks, gaps, and bottlenecks, and propose solutions to improve overall data reliability.
- Suggest and implement value‑add initiatives such as reusable test accelerators and SQL libraries, automated reconciliation scripts, test data generation strategies, and better test coverage models for high‑risk datasets.
- Experience using ALM or similar test management tools.
- Proficiency in TIBCO Spotfire testing and dashboard validation of similar BI tools.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong SQL skills.
- Knowledge of TIBCO Spotfire, Statistica, Power BI.
- Computer System Validation (CSV) experience in Life Sciences.
- Hands‑on with OpenText ALM, DBT, JIRA, Confluence, GitHub Copilot.
