The City of San José is seeking an experienced executive to serve as Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO) and lead the Technical Infrastructure Division. This leadership role involves driving infrastructure services, fostering innovation, ensuring IT governance, and supporting the city’s strategic goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Mentoring and managing multiple teams, establishing goals, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Overseeing IT governance, policies, and compliance to align with organizational objectives.
- Driving innovation by exploring emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Designing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Monitoring technology solutions and planning system roadmaps.
- Developing IT staff skills and competencies.
- Providing strategic leadership in partnership with city departments.
- Managing resources, budgets, and vendor relationships to ensure high-quality services.
Minimum qualifications:
- Successful completion of advanced coursework in business, public administration, or related field.
- Six (6) years of senior-level administrative or analytical experience in a public or private agency.
Desired competencies include:
- Experience managing large, integrated systems and cloud environments.
- Strong project and product management skills.
- Leadership, strategic thinking, and effective communication.
