Description We are seeking highly motivated engineers to join AWS’s Intelligence team, focused on operational excellence and troubleshooting complex system operations for U.S. Government agencies. Candidates must possess strong technical foundations in Linux, networking, and cloud services, as well as the ability to think big and simplify solutions.
Responsibilities On a typical day you will:
Investigate root causes of customer issues and identify trends in key metrics.
Execute defined tasks on schedule and identify ineffective processes.
Triage technical implementations for defects, availability, performance, and maintainability.
Mitigate operational concerns and, when necessary, raise escalations in a timely manner.
Automate operational processes and innovate new approaches for seamless operations.
This is a shift‑work position that supports 24/7 operations and may require nights and/or weekends.
Security Clearance Current, active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required. Candidates must opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency where AWS work is performed.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, or certifications such as A+, CND, Network+, or Security+.
2+ years of systems administration (Linux or Windows) experience.
2+ years of networking experience (DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI model, TCP/IP).
Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems, or prior technical support role.
Current, active U.S. government clearance of TS/SCI with polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with internet fundamentals and cloud computing concepts.
Knowledge of databases, storage, and big‑data concepts.
Experience with AWS core services, command console, or command‑line interface.
Experience with virtualization (VMware, Xen, Hypervisor).
Familiarity with security concepts and best practices.
Experience managing full application stacks and network monitoring/troubleshooting tools.
Compensation The Colorado base pay for this position ranges from $91,000 per year up to $152,000 per year. National base pay ranges from $81,900 per year in the lowest geographic market up to $152,000 per year in the highest geographic market.
