About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced

Accounting Manager

to lead and oversee accounting operations across multiple entities. This role provides guidance to staff and senior accountants, ensures accurate financial reporting, supports monthly and annual close processes, and assists with audits and regulatory filings. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a mindset focused on continuous improvement.

Accounting Manager Key Responsibilities

Lead and provide oversight to accounting staff, ensuring adherence to established processes and controls

The Accounting Manager will review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation

Support monthly close, including preparation of journal entries and financial statements for multiple entities

Conduct research on GAAP, tax regulations, and complex accounting issues

Prepare information for external audits and internal management reporting

The Accounting Manager will assist with nonprofit tax filings (including 990s) and other regulatory reporting

Develop analyses and ad hoc reports as needed

Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Minimum Qualifications of the Accounting Manager Role

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

Experience preparing complex financial reports and resolving accounting issues

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint

One of the following: CPA license with 3+ years of corporate accounting experience,

or

4+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong GAAP knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

Active CPA certification

1+ year of supervisory or team-lead experience
