Spaceflight Hardware Systems Engineer – Space Systems Join our dynamic team as a Spaceflight Hardware Systems Engineer at Oceaneering Space Systems, supporting NASA and commercial space programs. Company Profile Oceaneering Space Systems (OSS) develops, integrates, and applies innovative technologies to meet space and harsh environment challenges. OSS serves NASA, commercial space, and defense markets. Position Summary As a Spaceflight Hardware Systems Engineer, you will work in the Power and Propulsion Projects section of the Engineering Department on the NASA JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science II (JETS II) Contract. The role involves planning, developing, reviewing, and maintaining system requirements and verification plans, supporting system life cycle reviews, risk analysis, and trade studies. Duties and Responsibilities Plan, develop, review, and maintain requirements and verification plans. Prepare materials for System Readiness Review, Preliminary Design Review, and Critical Design Review. Identify risks, develop risk statements, and work with the team to plan risk responses. Perform and review system‑level architecture trade studies and analyses. Utilize requirements management tools such as DOORS, Cradle, or Jama. Create and manage requirements flow down from NASA Program to contractor projects and interface definitions between subsystems. Report status and raise issues in a team environment. Maintain professional relationships with NASA customers and other contractors. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications Required: B.S. in Engineering from an accredited school and minimum of two (2) years of experience. Experience with NASA JSC Flight Hardware Life Cycle, certification, and engineering processes. Excellent written and verbal communication across multiple disciplines. Knowledge of requirements management, verification and validation, design trades, risk analysis, and space hardware system analysis. Familiarity with SharePoint and Microsoft Office. Preferred: Basic knowledge of space hardware concepts, mechanical/electrical system design, and engineering tools. Experience with NASA/JSC standard practices and safety procedures. Experience in technical leadership roles. Proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency and ability to complete a U.S. government background investigation. Additional Information Travel: International travel may be required. Work schedule: 9/80 (every other Friday off) with straight time overtime and up to one day of telework per week.
