Senior Human Resources Generalist
San Diego, CA – Contract Position
We are supporting a fast‑growing defense, national security and advanced technology company that is building mission‑critical systems and solving some of the toughest operational challenges in the industry. They are looking for a Senior Human Resources Generalist who can strengthen day‑to‑day people operations and deliver an excellent employee experience across a highly technical workforce.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands‑on across HR processes, improving workflows, and supporting employees and managers with clarity, care, and professionalism. The work is varied, fast‑paced, and directly connected to programs that have real impact.
What You Will Be Doing
Acting as a primary point of contact for employee questions and general HR support
Maintaining accurate HR files, records and documentation while ensuring confidentiality
Responding to employee inquiries regarding benefits, policies and HR processes
Supporting payroll activities and addressing employee questions as needed
Preparing reports from the HRIS for audits and compliance requirements
Leading onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire orientation
Advising managers on employee relations matters and workplace concerns
Supporting compensation, benefits and leave administration
Providing guidance on disciplinary issues and performance concerns
Participating in performance and talent management activities
Helping build initiatives that improve morale, culture and recognition
Coordinating occupational health and safety programs
Supporting internal training and development activities
Staying up to date with employment laws and recommending policy updates
What We Are Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or a related field
Five to seven years of human resources experience
Experience supporting a technical or engineering‑focused workforce
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism
High level of organization and attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
Ability to learn new HRIS and payroll platforms quickly
Experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus

Location: Onsite in San Diego, CA
Candidates must meet U.S. export control and ITAR requirements
