Hr Generalist Position

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced HR Generalist to join our team in Hopkins, Minnesota. In this role, you will handle a variety of human resource functions, including recruitment, employee relations, payroll management, and compliance. Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee recruitment efforts for hourly and salaried positions, including part-time, permanent, and contract roles across multiple locations.
  • Facilitate pre-employment processes such as drug testing, background checks, and physical examinations to ensure compliance.
  • Manage onboarding activities for new hires, including documentation, orientation, and training programs.
  • Support union relations by addressing grievances and maintaining positive communication.
  • Provide guidance to employees on company policies, procedures, and workplace processes.
  • Address employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions and terminations, while ensuring compliance.
  • Maintain accurate employee records by managing data entry for new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, and other updates.
  • Administer payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of wages, benefits, and deductions in accordance with company policies.
  • Handle payroll-related tasks such as processing garnishments, support orders, liens, and other deductions.
  • Assist with the implementation and administration of HR policies and procedures across multiple locations, including updates to employee handbooks.

An ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or similar, in addition to 3+ years of both payroll and human resources experience. Experience using ADP WorkForce Now is also required. This role is fully onsite, working standard business hours. Beginning pay is $60,000-80,000, depending on qualifications. Requirements:

  • Proven experience in human resources, with a focus on generalist responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive employee relations.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems, including ADP, and experience managing multistate payroll processes.
  • Knowledge of HRIS platforms and ability to maintain accurate employee data.
  • Understanding of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP is preferred but not required.
