Overview

The Production Manager/Director oversees the full product lifecycle from development through delivery. This role ensures high-quality product, on-time execution, and strong collaboration across design, vendors, and internal teams in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end production, including sourcing, sample development, fittings, and bulk manufacturing.
• Implement and maintain quality control standards; review and approve key production samples.
• Partner with design and patternmaking to ensure fit, construction, and technical feasibility.
• Build and maintain cost sheets; manage margins and negotiate with factories and vendors.
• Source and manage factories and suppliers (domestic and international; European experience a plus).
• Develop and track seasonal production calendars and timelines to meet delivery dates.
• Oversee sales order accuracy and sample tracking for internal and wholesale needs.
• Monitor material procurement, inventory levels, and usage across development and production.
• Continuously improve production processes, efficiency, and vendor performance.
• Support ethical, social, and environmental standards with production partners.
• Manage production budgets and provide regular status and risk updates to leadership.

Profile & Qualifications

• 8+ years in luxury or high-end ready-to-wear production with ownership of development and manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking principles, and sourcing.
• Proven costing, margin analysis, and vendor negotiation skills.
• Proficient with ERP systems, Excel, and production tracking tools.
• Experienced in managing multiple collections and timelines with strong attention to detail.
• Resourceful, solutions-oriented, and calm under pressure.
• Clear communicator with strong collaboration skills across internal teams and external partners.
• Highly organized, hands‑on, and passionate about craftsmanship and luxury product.
