Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN with a DC license and a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Position is in a hospital Cath Lab at a short-term acute care, teaching facility
Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1
Day shifts, 4x10 hours (7:00 to 17:30), 40 hours weekly
Patient population includes those undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
Experience with Cerner charting system is required
Scrubs are provided for this unit
Parking is available for a fee
Primary responsibilities include assisting in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures and managing patient care throughout the process
Pre-employment modules are required and completed prior to and during orientation
First-time travelers with qualifying experience are accepted
No RTO is approved for holidays and no RTO permitted during the first two weeks of assignment
Time off requests should not exceed 7 days for the 13-week contract
Nurses who were previously employed with this health system must have a minimum 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
Applicants living within a 60-mile radius are considered local
Manager interview may not occur as part of the hiring process
Requirements
Active DC RN license required at time of consideration
Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required
A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Cath Lab, Interventional Vascular Lab, or Interventional Radiology is required
Skills in central line insertion and management, starting IVs, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions, procedural sedation monitoring, ventilator monitoring, and PA lines required
BSN is preferred
